Vita Vite Brings Together People To Appreciate The Beautiful Things In Life

By Pamela Sosnowski

What could be better than savoring a great glass of wine? Sipping a great vino while surrounded by artwork. That's the concept behind Vita Vite Art Gallery and Wine Bar of Raleigh, which brings together people so they can appreciate the beautiful things in life.

"My background is in the arts, and I always knew that I wanted to open my own gallery," says the owner, Lindsay Rice. "I was inspired to open it because I wanted to create a place in Raleigh that people could go in a casual environment to drink good wine, and be surrounded by beautiful things. I've spent so much time traveling over the years, and have always wanted to bring back my favorite aspects of the places I've been to create a little haven of culture in the town that I love, Raleigh."

The name Vita Vite comes from the Italian words for "life" and "vine" and presents artwork from local Southern artists in a rustic yet comfortable space that is never snobbish. Located in the heart of the warehouse district, the bar features cushy seating that can be configured for any size party. "For a newcomer to Vita Vite, I would describe our space as a comfortable environment that removes any of the pretension and intimidation associated with either wine or art," explains Rice. "It's cozy and inviting, filled with leather sofas, overstuffed chairs, upholstered barstools, and a variety of fun and different seating sections that can allow visitors to mingle with others, or settle in by themselves."

Besides an extensive wine list, Vita Vite's menu offers everything from savory bites such as cheese, charcuterie, and jalapeño pickles to sweet treats to compliment the pours. Additionally, at least six craft beers from the Southern region are on tap at any time.

Vita Vite can also be rented for private occasions such as birthday parties, corporate gatherings, wedding showers, and more. "The beauty of the space is that it's a blank canvas," says Rice. "It can be set up however the client would like, allowing for complete freedom and creativity when planning an event. We've had everything from weddings to birthday parties, silent auctions to newspaper launches!"

The versatile event space encompasses 1,200 square feet and features chandeliers, exposed brick, and concrete floors. A movable bar can accommodate many different events and party sizes. The staff can also provide audio and visual support including a projector, sound system, and Internet access and can make recommendations for tables, chairs, and linens if needed.

Vita Vite has created a space in downtown Raleigh where people can go to relax, enjoy wine, and socialize with each other while viewing the latest local artwork. Says Rice, "There are few things more relaxing than sitting on a comfortable sofa in front of a fireplace, sipping wine while admiring a beautiful work of art. I love that we've created a space where people can come to enjoy these wonderful things in life!"
