The Benefits of Having a Concrete Septic Tank: An Interview with Roger Haag of WeDoTanks.Com

By Roger Haag

Tell us a little bit about your company and its foundation.

The company was officially started in 1985. The name has been changed several times to what it is now:, LLC. Original name was Haag Tanks, Inc.; then went to HTI, Inc. All too hard to say or for people to understand, so we changed it to what the website is.

What are a few basics benefits of a concrete septic tank?

Primarily, you do not have to secure it to the ground because the weight of concrete will keep it from floating. Whereas, plastic or steel tanks can float and the latter will even rust out.

Isn't that difficult to install?

It's actually quite easy after the home owner or contractor determines what the infiltration rate is. Usually, the county or local health departments have data on this based on soil type in area.

What do homeowners have to do to prepare for the process?

Get quotes to make sure they're not getting ripped off just because they need one badly. And, for maintenance, get it pumped about every 3-5 years.

How is the price of a concrete septic tank compared to a traditional model?

I think about the same as plastic, only you have to secure to ground so doesn't float.

What's the best way for people to get in contact with you and your company?

Our website and/or by e-mail.
