Helping You Find Your Kitchen and Bath Inspiration: An Interview with Kitchen and Bath Galleries

By Kristen Bosse

Please describe a little bit about your company and the services you offer:

We are a full service design and retail company offering appliances, cabinetry, countertops and plumbing fixtures in addition to the design services. A client can come in and purchase everything for their kitchen and bath remodels. We also work with builders and their clients on new construction of kitchens and baths.

What is your position at Kitchen and Bath Galleries?

Administrative Assistant to the President of the Company.

What made you think to merge a cabinet and appliance company?

It was the idea of the two founders of Kitchen & Bath Galleries. One came from a well-established cabinet company and the other from a well-established appliance company. This was done in late 1997 and they incorporated in March of 1998. They saw a need to combine both appliances and cabinets offering clients one-stop shopping for their kitchens and baths in addition to the expertise of qualified designers and appliance specialists.

With so many selections, what are some ways you help your clients decide what fits with their home?

The designers and appliance specialists work very closely with their clients to find out what their wants and needs are in addition to getting a feel for their lifestyle. The designers often go to the client's home to see the space and get a feel for the style of the home. They also listen and work very closely with the clients with regard to budget.

How do you make sure the clients' space reflects their personal style?

By listening and communicating with the client. Viewing the home also helps and asking the clients to pull together some pictures and ideas of what they like.

Do you think you hold an advantage throughout the remodeling process considering you are so knowledgeable about the products in your showrooms?

Yes. Since we sell the majority of products used for remodeling kitchens and bathrooms and we work so closely with remodeling contractors, we do hold an advantage.

What makes kitchen remodeling different than the renovation of other areas in my home?

The kitchen is the heart of the home. A large portion of our time is spent in the kitchen and it is where memories are made. There are definitely certain requirements in remodeling a kitchen with regard to the electrical, venting and gas if used. Also, it takes time for installation of cabinetry, countertops, lighting fixtures, appliances, etc. and the measurements must be accurate for it all to work together.

What are some things I can include in my bathroom renovation that will really increase the value of my home?

Updated finishes, tile as well as plumbing fixtures. And, opening up the space if possible so that it feels larger.

What's the best way for people to get in contact with you?

Our website is www.kandbgalleries.com. There you will find the locations and phone numbers for our different showrooms. The phone number for our main showroom is 919-783-7100.
