Core Catering Creates Feasts for the Eyes and Pleasures for the Palate

By Paul Rowe

For years, Core Catering has provided the Triangle community with creative menus, inspired cuisine, and an unmatched personalized approach to catering. Combining the freshest of ingredients with dramatic presentation goes a long way towards satisfying even the most discriminating palate.

"Healthy food tastes better," says owner Pat J. Eder, and the Durham community has embraced this mantra. "We support local farmers and growers and love the bounty found right in our own back yard: along with farm fresh eggs, local meats and seafood options, we offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy substitutes for every meal from breakfast to dinner, including desserts."

Hailing from the United States, Central America, South America, Africa, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and more, members of the Core Catering family make up an inspired team of caterers.

"I was fortunate to travel when I was young during my corporate career before starting Core Catering. My culinary experiences while on the road combined with the incredible staff I get to work with now make creating menus fun and exciting," says Eder. "Our event planning team gets to go out to the customers and ask, 'What's your vision?' with complete confidence that our culinary team can make it happen."

That's how dreams come true here: one customer at a time. "Tell us what you want, and we can make it happen" has become Core Catering's prideful maxim, as custom designing for each event always meets each client's unique needs. The ultimate goal is to make any occasion a breathtaking, memorable experience.

Offering breakfast, corporate continental, hearty buffets, light hors d'oeuvres, dinner, sweet and savory snacks, and much more, Core Catering supports events ranging from cocktail parties, corporate events, weddings, garden parties, and holiday happenings.

Popular dishes include quiches with gluten-free crust, unparalleled blueberry muffins featuring locally grown blueberries from Phoenix Farm, and healthy vegetable lentil curry, combining organic red and green lentils with a bevy of local sweet potatoes and kale, along with an in-house blend of herbs and spices, served with organic brown rice and quinoa.

"We make scrumptious classic comfort foods like chicken pot pie and shepherd's pie," says Eder. "Our shrimp and grits is memorable as is our braised beef ribs and pecan crusted chicken. I can talk about food forever- can you tell?"

Passionate commitment to healthy food and placing community first has helped Core Catering rise above the rest in Durham, North Carolina. The company's continued growth is a testament to that dedication.
